Poop and stool habits account for numerous discussions among parents, especially for those with newborn children or parents who are in the throes of potty training.  It’s true, no topic is off limits when it comes to raising healthy, resilient kids! (more…)

Airborne for Your Kids?

Friday, November 18th, 2011

It’s cold & flu season and I have already been receiving emails from parents asking what works/doesn’t work.  I reviewed a recent note from a well-meaning dad asking if he could give his 3 year old son Airborne to help “offset colds”. (more…)

A Little TLC Goes A Long Way

Thursday, November 17th, 2011

I can tell that I am maturing, not by the new “character lines” I see popping up (hate that), but rather by the way that language and jargon continues to change. I really have tried to stay up with new acronyms such as LOL, or POS, or even “keep it on the DL”. (more…)

Ear Tubes and Your Child

Thursday, November 10th, 2011

I received another email via our iPhone App from a mom who had read the ear infection articles and asked about the placement of ear tubes. That is a great question as this topic comes up often in children who have frequent ear infections. (more…)

Over-use Injuries in Kids

Wednesday, November 9th, 2011

It seems that more and more kids are participating in organized sports at even younger ages. I now have many 3 year olds who are already playing on a soccer team, and kindergartners in football and lacrosse. They are also “specializing” in a sport at younger ages as well. With the focus on one sport at even earlier ages the risk of overuse injuries seems to be greater. (more…)
