Caramel Apples

1 small bag red apples

3 large bags caramel chews

1/4 cup water

4 cups toasted nuts (pecans, peanuts or walnuts)


Unwrap caramel chews and place in large bowl. Add water to bowl with chews. Place bowl over double boiler on stove and heat over medium flame.

While chews are melting, wash and dry apples completely. Insert popsicle sticks into each of the apples and reserve. Place 4 cups of favorite toasted nuts in food processor and pulse until ground.

When chews have melted, dip apples into bowl and completely cover. Remove from caramel and allow excess to drip back into bowl. Roll apples in ground nuts and place standing up on cookie sheet. Allow to cool and enjoy.

Makes approximately 20 apples
