Popular Gas-Relief Medicine Recalled

by The Kid's Doctor Staff

A recall has been issued for about 12, 000 units of one of the most popular over-the-counter infant gas relief products. Johnson & Johnson-Merck Consumer Pharmaceuticals Co. issued the recall for Mylicon drops because some of the bottles could include pieces of metal.

The recalled drops involved the non-staining Mylicon gas-relief dye-free drops. They were sold in 1-ounce plastic bottles that were sent to stores and pharmacies after October 5.

The recalled bottles are from lots SMF007 and SMF008. The numbers are printed on the bottom of the box and on the lower-left side of the bottle sticker.

Parents concerned about the recall can call 800-222-9435 or visit http://www.mylicon.com
